I am not where I want to be in fact, losing weight has been a true struggle for me. I lose weight and I find some back. Yet here is a comparison of where I was back in May 2012 vs. May 2014 I am not where I want to be yet I am proud to have made some progress. It's not about reaching a goal overnight, it's about learning how to reach it and make it stick. I have a long road ahead but I am motivated to continue working toward it.
If you are struggling with weight loss, you need to find out what is behind your struggle. Many of us try many types of diets and yet we keep falling back into the same habits or losing motivation toward our goals. Why is it? Is it health? Is it frustration? Or is it that you are not clear on why you are losing the weight? You see, it’s not the same thing to say you need to lose weight as to commit to a goal that you understand. One of the things that turned me off the most was to think that I needed to lose weight to attract other people, you see even though I understand that attraction is important; in my mind I resent the fact that someone will not see who I am due to my appearance. I know that this mentality is wrong on my part, yet I have come to understand that this is a negative thought which lingers on. So what have I done? Rather than focus on losing weight to attract a male companion, I am focused on continued health. You see, I am very healthy and as I age, I know that I can’t just wish for good health, I need to take better of myself so that I can continue to enjoy great health. But then one more thing and it is tied to that male companion, my focus is also to be healthy enough to enjoy my time with my partner. You see how I changed my thought from “attracting” to “being healthy enough to enjoy”? You see I already know my triggers; therefore a little mind game and refocus on my goals will help me get there. So why are you trying to lose weight? Why do you think you have not succeeded? Get clear on why losing weight is important to you and get clear so that you are emotionally connected to your why. If you feel forced into losing weight you will not be committed for the run, however if you feel connected to your goal, you will commit and see it through no matter how long or challenging it may be.
Do it for you…….and it will pay off in all areas of your life.
