You are sitting in the reception area waiting to be called in for your interview. The receptionist engages you in small talk. You share with her/him that you're nervous about your interview, you just left a horrible boss and don't want to work for another micromanager. You chuckle and continue to wait your turn.
Your interview seems to go well, the interviewer sees you out and as you leave she or he checks in with the receptionist, "What was your impression of that candidate? Did he or she share anything about their prior experience?"
Keep this in mind, during the interview process everyone you encounter, it does not matter who they are might have a say in the outcome of your interview. Therefore treat every interaction as part of the interview process.
